A captivating package of light heartedness awaits anyone attending a performance by the Klangbezirk ensemble, presented by singers who love what they do: To touch people with their songs.

What unites Klangbezirk is the musical excellence of every single member, thanks to professional vocal training and many years of work in other musical institutions like the Federal German Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer. What makes Klangbezirk so likeable is how they treat quality as a prerequisite: Virtuoso arrangements of well-known pieces, new compositions and a disarming unpretentious fresh approach to presentation. This is how the quartet has endeared itself to its fans around the world since its establishment in the winter of 2005.

From Taiwan to Tampere: Clinching of numerous national and international ‘a capella’ awards only serves to confirm what becomes absolutely obvious on first hearing the quartet: There is no doubt whatsoever that the four are excellent. They are able to convince judges and public alike of this at music competitions and at festivals with a unique combination of sincerity, vocal charisma and a musical range from jazz, to pop and as far as rock.

Thanks to tours through Austria, Hungary, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong and Macau, an international audience that would go beyond age barriers and genre sensitivities opened up for the four. In the process, the Klangbezirk ensemble passes on what it lives by, holding vocal workshops both internationally, as well as in renowned state music schools around Germany: A carefree pleasure in discovering and developing its own skills. When they draw in their audiences in spontaneous, funny improvisations at eye level, it comes across as so light and compelling, that it is easy to forget the professionalism and training that is required for such a performance: Everything becomes dissipated in the sheer joy of having arrived at the Klangbezirk ensemble.
